Parents and Friends, Inc. Housing

imageThis year has been an incredible and challenging year for Parents and Friends, Inc. We have completed the Butterfly Garden Apartments, located on Andrew Avenue in La Porte, Indiana. These apartments consist of 4 duplexes and 8 apartments, with each apartment having 1,100 square feet of living space. There are three bedrooms, 1.5 baths, a fully furnished kitchen, washer, dryer and a living and dining room.

imageOur clients, who are currently in the Community Living Program, occupy the Butterfly Garden Apartments. We are excited to announce that we are ready to break ground for the 5th duplex at the butterfly Garden Apartments. We are currently looking for renters to rent the two new apartments, (for more details, contact Carl Scott or Christine Bonnell at 219-324-0656). These apartments were completed as a result of three grant awards: Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority awarded PAF $400,000; La Porte Community block Grant awarded us $75,000 for the purchase of the land on Andrew Avenue and Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis awarded PAF $350,650. We received numerous donations and community support that built incredible community relationships that helped this dream become a reality. It is relationships like these that have and will continue to make all the difference in the life of Adults with disabilities and the seniors of the La Porte County communities.
