ESCORT SERVICES
Escort Services covers non-medical trips that typically fall into one of the following categories:
- Pharmacy
- Nutrition [ex. grocery stores, food banks, congregate meals]
- Business [ex. banking, attorney, to secure benefits or housing]
- Visitation of close relatives residing in a facility
Escort services provide not only transportation but also assistance with tasks such as shopping and carrying groceries to the house. Application can be made by calling the Council on Aging office at 326-7889 (1-800-308-9566 outside the LaPorte / Westville area).
The Escort Services program is supported by REAL Services and the Michigan City Community Enrichment Corporation.
Other destinations may be considered, on a private-pay basis, if a driver is available.
